The Story Behind The Movement
We started as a handful of students who thought policy shouldn't stay confined to a classroom. Today PPC is India's first student-led public policy movement — built on research, dialogue, and civic action.
Why We Exist
The Public Policy Club was established at Rishihood University to bridge the gap between academic theory and active governance. We serve as a nexus for students, policymakers, and industry experts to converge, debate, and design actionable solutions for India's evolving socio-economic landscape.
What began with a single inaugural session in February 2025 has grown into weekly Policy Circles, standing research clusters, a published editorial calendar, delegations to national forums, and India's first student-run Policy Incubator — without ever loosening the non-partisan, evidence-first standard we started with.

How We Think
The Room, and Its Rules
Weekly Policy Circle
A ten-minute structured briefing from a rotating member, followed by twenty to twenty-five minutes of open-floor debate. Attendance is mandatory for core members — it is the spine the rest of the week hangs off.
The Devil's Advocate Rule
In every formal session one member is assigned to argue the opposing stance, whether or not they hold it. Consensus that has never been attacked is not consensus.
Read Before You Discuss
Mandatory reading is circulated forty-eight hours before every Policy Circle. Turning up cold is turning up unprepared.
No Passive Presence
Everyone in the room contributes. There is no seat at a Policy Circle that only requires you to listen.
Sacred Discussion Notes
Designated note-takers document the points made and — more importantly — the disagreements. Those notes are the seed bank for future publications.
Take The Floor
A formal motion-based debate series with student Pro and Con sides, run to parliamentary discipline rather than open discussion.
Inter-Cluster Competitions
Collaborative policy competitions run across our Defence, Education and Urbanization clusters, scored and ranked at the end of each round.
Internal Governance
Written Down, So It Outlives Us
A student club loses its entire leadership every couple of years. These standard operating procedures are how the institution keeps what it learned after the people who learned it have graduated.
Guest Session SOPs
A minute-by-minute run-of-show for physical and online sessions alike, with roles written down before the day: host, tech handler, guest coordinator, videographer, note-taker, attendance manager. Flag protocol is fixed — national flag to the speaker's right, university flag to their left.
Guest Invitation & Onboarding
A formal invitation template, a guest onboarding document, and a pre-session briefing. A written thank-you goes out within twenty-four hours, the internal debrief within forty-eight, and the speaker joins our database either way.
Editorial & Brand Workflows
One pitch-to-publish pipeline, one APA citation style guide, and a centralised Google Drive and Notion workspace organised so any file can be found in under two minutes.
Video Production Standard
Dedicated microphones only — never phone audio. Lower-thirds inside the first thirty seconds, our signature audio sting, and consistent colour grading across every release.

Club Inauguration
Launched with an inaugural session led by Prof. Shobhit Mathur, establishing a student-led policy space at Rishihood.
Policy & Governance Dialogues
Engaged with leaders and experts on Indian politics, reforms, geopolitics and diplomacy.
National & International Collaboration
Participated in IIC, PAFI and Indo-Israel policy engagements, expanding the club's network.
National Exposure
Represented the club at VBYLD 2026 and Haryana Yuva Samvad, engaging with policymakers and national leaders.
Student Leadership & Practice
Election Learning Week, the Peer Learning Drive and the Board Oath Ceremony — alongside debates and policy competitions — built a student-led policy culture.
